The ninth chapter of the book focuses on value chain management, and thus there is a need to understand the concept of the suppliers from the chapter. As stated in the book, it is evident that the suppliers have an upstream value that delivers and creates the purchased inputs. Additionally, most of the products go through the channel value to reach the buyer. When developing formidable relations with the suppliers, the managers should focus on procurement in terms of contracts and mechanics of purchase agreements. Supplier management should focus on adding value and management of people.
